Rising sea levels and extreme weather events threaten not only fragile salt-pan structures and rare species habitats, but also the 700-year-old intangible heritage of salt-making, as the last generation of old salt workers passes away<\/span><span data-path-to-node=\"7,4\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"p-rc_7d4808e0bdeb1e1c-155\" data-path-to-node=\"8\"><span data-path-to-node=\"8,0\">Based on the innovative <b data-path-to-node=\"8,0\" data-index-in-node=\"24\">PET-P<\/b> concept (Future, Climate, Connection, Transmission, Adaptation), the project engages volunteers, students, and younger salt workers through hands-on field actions (<i data-path-to-node=\"8,0\" data-index-in-node=\"194\">learning by doing<\/i>) guided by experienced mentors<\/span><span data-path-to-node=\"8,2\">. Participants restore crystallization basins (<i data-path-to-node=\"8,2\" data-index-in-node=\"47\">kavedini<\/i>) and prepare the grounds for cultivating <b data-path-to-node=\"8,2\" data-index-in-node=\"97\">petola<\/b> \u2013 a biological mat of microorganisms that acts as a natural filter and stabilizes the ecosystem against climate shocks<\/span><span data-path-to-node=\"8,4\">. Key activities include bilingual expert lectures, the documentation of authentic dialect terminology (Istro-Venetian), and the production of a cross-border educational documentary film<\/span><span data-path-to-node=\"8,6\">.
